General Agriculture
General Purpose
To equip the students and farmers with competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) that will make them competent organic farmers and be able to compete favourably in the agriculture fraternity. To equip the trainees with competences (knowledge, skills and desired attitudes) that will enable them to carry out Organic Farming in the agricultural sector.
Programme Objectives
On completion of the programme, trainees will be able to fulfil the following roles and competences:
- Role of professional in organic farming in the whole process from preparation of land to food processing
- Role of communicator in organic farmer
- Role of collaborator in organic farming
- Role of designer in organic farming
- Role of researcher in organic farmer
- Role of entrepreneur in organic farming

Entry Requirements
Open Entry
Mature age entry candidates: One year working experience in a relevant field plus a letter of recommendation from employers
Student Assessment
- Final assessment 100%
- Pass mark 50%
- Continuous assessment by portfolio 100%
Attendance
The candidate must have an attendance of minimum 85% to be eligible for the final examinations and syllabus coverage of 85% to be eligible for the final assessment.
Certification
Successful candidates shall be awarded a Level II Trade Test Certificate in General Agriculture by the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA).
